What happens when you send four curious Everbravers to Boston for UNBOUND? You come home with full brains, big ideas and a lot to share.

New to UNBOUND? It’s HubSpot’s annual conference (formerly known as INBOUND), bringing together thousands of marketers, sales leaders, RevOps pros and HubSpot partners for keynotes, product news and hands-on sessions. This year it ran September 16 to 18 in Boston.

As a Calgary-based HubSpot Platinum Partner, it’s one of the biggest weeks in our calendar, and we went all in, sending four of our team members:

  • RevOps: Dan (President & CEO) and Chad (RevOps Specialist)
  • Growth marketing: Brianne (Partner & VP) and Leilani (Director of Growth Operations)

Things kicked off with Partner Day; a day for the app and solutions partners who help businesses launch HubSpot, get their CRM in shape and put AI agents to work. HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan opened with a keynote that brought back a familiar idea: the flywheel. HubSpot is simplifying around three pillars: build demand, win deals and delight customers.

As Dan put it on the day, HubSpot feels like it’s “starting to go a little bit back to their roots.” We love that. It’s what we’ve always believed: growth happens when brand, marketing, sales and RevOps work in sync. Yes, AI agents dominated the rest of the week. But those three pillars helped cut through the noise.

This post shares the RevOps side of our trip: Dan and Chad’s best practices, plus the new HubSpot features worth knowing. For the growth marketing side, Brianne and Leilani have written their own post, Growth Marketing in the AI Era. Whether you’re a Calgary business or growing anywhere across Canada, here’s what’s worth knowing.

HubSpot RevOps takeaways from UNBOUND 2026

If there was one message our RevOps team heard on repeat in Boston, it was this: AI is only as smart as the data and context you feed it. Dan and Chad came home with the same conclusion from different sessions. Here are the best practices we’re already bringing into our clients’ HubSpot portals, because strategies should work in the real world, not just on paper.

1. You can’t outpace bad data

Data infrastructure is now the foundation of your business. As AI tools get smarter and more woven into daily workflows, messy data doesn’t just slow you down. It actively works against you.

As Dan put it: “There are no more excuses for half measures and messy infrastructure.”

Best practice: treat CRM data quality as a revenue project, not an admin chore. It’s not the most glamorous job in RevOps, but it’s the one everything else stands on. Audit your properties, fix duplicates, and agree on what “good” looks like before you switch on any new AI features.

2. Context turns AI agents from generic to genuinely useful

HubSpot AI agents (including Breeze) are only as smart as the context behind them. Out of the box, they’ll give you generic answers. Feed them your brand foundations, company history, ideal customer profile and customer history, and they start sounding like you.

It was Brianne’s big takeaway from Yamini’s Partner Day keynote too: building that context into HubSpot during onboarding is what sets a new client up for success.

Best practice: before you build an agent, document the context it needs. If a new hire would need it to do the job well, so does your agent.

3. Build specialists, not a Swiss Army knife

When building an agentic workforce, give each AI agent a single job description. Then add a “chief of staff” agent to oversee them. And always, always keep a human in the loop.

Best practice: let AI take the mundane, routine tasks off your plate, so your team has more time for the creative, strategic work that actually grows the business.

4. Your CRM has more front doors than ever

There are now lots of new ways to access and interact with your CRM data, from AI assistants to integrations to agents working in the background. Chad’s question for every business: is your system built for that?

Best practice: map how data gets in and out of HubSpot today. If your structure only makes sense to the person who built it, AI tools won’t make sense of it either.

5. Adoption is now a data strategy

Context only builds when everyone follows the system in front of them. The biggest risk isn’t the rep who skips a CRM feature. It’s anyone keeping information in silos (inboxes, spreadsheets, their own head), where your AI tools and admins can’t reach it.

Best practice: invest in enablement and adoption as seriously as you invest in implementation. A HubSpot onboarding isn’t finished when the portal is live. It’s finished when the team is using it.

6. Go deeper into your niche

With enriched data from data brokers now everywhere, everyone has access to the same basic information. Differentiation comes from what only you know about your customers.

Best practice: capture the niche insight your team gathers from real conversations, and build it into your CRM so it’s working for you.

7. Measure quality, not vanity

Traditional web traffic is dropping, and Dan’s advice is not to panic. Up to half of website visits are likely bots anyway. Focus your HubSpot reporting on lead quality and deal value instead.

Best practice: rebuild your dashboards around pipeline and revenue metrics, not page views.

New HubSpot features worth knowing

Here’s the product news that stood out most for our clients:

  • Customer Agent (Breeze): now more configurable, with its own name, knowledge, guidelines, behaviour and live scenarios. A new voice option opens up appointment-based use cases, like an HVAC company booking an AC tune-up over the phone. We’ve switched on the Customer Agent Voice beta in our own portal to test it first.
  • Knowledge Base Agent: reviews support tickets for recurring questions, suggests and drafts new articles for human review, recommends edits to existing ones, and ranks its suggestions by expected impact. It also gives AEO recommendations so AI tools can understand your content.
  • Help desk prep: Breeze pulls together tickets, sentiment and conversation history, so a rep can ask “What do I need to know before this call?” and get background, risk signals, talking points and next steps.
  • Contract object and revenue reporting: a new Contract object and stronger revenue reporting cover committed revenue, payment schedules, renewals, churn, revenue at risk and retention over time. Marketing, sales and customer success finally see actual revenue, not just deals in the pipeline.
  • Context Tool in Agent Hub: while not entirely new, it has seen a substantial upgrade, and it has become more relevant than ever in the Agentic World. All that context and data we’ve talked about? This is where it lives.

Off the conference floor

It wasn’t all sessions and slide decks. Dan loved meeting so many people in person for the first time, and the trip was great for team bonding. Chad met HubSpot Academy’s Kyle Jepson, ticked off a proper Boston lobster roll, and drank in the learning through a firehose.

Brianne’s highlights? Mel Robbins’ leadership talk, and Jay Schwedelson’s “10 seconds of brave,” which felt like it was written for us (the name’s a giveaway). More on both in our growth marketing post.
